Kildare’s first foray into the Joe McDonagh Cup ended in defeat at St. Conleth’s Park, Newbridge as two goals in an explosive third quarter from Kevin McDonald was just enough for Carlow to hang on for a 2-22 (28 points) to 3-16 (25 Points) victory.
