Report

The COVID-19 Pandemic resulted in the Northern Ireland Volleyball Leagues being suspended on March 13th 2020, with Aztec Warriors on 9 points, three ahead of Ballymoney Blaze in Women’s Division 1. Garvagh Phoenix (2 points) were adrift at the bottom, only ahead of Aztec Cadets (1 Point) and Ulster University Colderaine 2 (0 Points) who had joined after Stage 1, and had only played one game.

The Competition was split into two stages, with the top 4 of 7 competing in the Premier League after Stage 1 and the bottom 3 joining the Women’s Division 1.

Report

The Student Sport Ireland Women’s Volleyball Tier 1 Cup Final between NUI Galway and Royal College of Surgeons Ireland was postponed, presumably due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic, which led to the government cancelling all sporting activity from March until mid-July 2020.

NUI Galway had earlier defeated IT Carlow in the semi-finals, and Royal College of Surgeons had knocked out Technological University of Dublin City Campus and Maynooth University.
